The weather between summer and fall in Charleston can be very strange. It can be extremely hot or it can be a nice 75 degrees all day. When I say the weather was perfect and beautiful on Amy and Bens wedding day, I truly believe thats an understatement. It was PERFECT. There was not a cloud in the sky, the temperature was just right, and the sun shined through the tall moss covered oak trees all day.
I walked into the bridesmaids getting ready room and was met with big smiles, contagious laughter, and a glowing beautiful bride to be. Everyone was so excited to be there and you could just feel the joy radiating throughout the rooms. Legare Waring House holds a special type of vibe. The house allows so much light to seep through the windows and each room is designed in a particular way so that no matter what your wedding day looks like, theres a getting ready room to match your esthetic. When I am piecing together a wedding day at Legare, I am looking around at the florals, decor, and bridesmaids dresses to decide which room is going to look best and blend best with the wedding day. In this room, the girls will get ready and the bride will step into her dress. On Amy and Bens Wedding day, we decided to do her first look with dad in this room, which by the way was the sweetest first look. Amys dad is the most kind soul I think I have ever met. Going a little off topic here, my car was stolen the night before Amy and Bens wedding day while I was photographing their rehearsal dinner. Amys dad was right there next to me the entire night until my husband was there to pick me up. I will never forget that kindness and it was so very much appreciated.
The love Amy and Ben share together is hard to ignore. It is so powerful and pure! They have been together for 14 years and if that is not a sign of true love, I don’t know what is. Another thing I noticed about their wedding day was the way they honor the ones who are no longer here on earth with them. They stay true to honoring them and making sure that talking about them and acknowledging their life is present during the entire wedding day. Ben even made a comment at the reception that talking about them almost brings them back to earth and I could not agree more.
Amy and Ben wedding ceremony took place under an avenue of moss covered oaks. This view is one of the most sought after views in the low country. There is something about moss covered oaks that looks and feels so magical. Once the ceremony was finished, we captured family and headed off to the reception where the florals hung from the ceiling of the tent and the golden sunset reflected off of the pond nearby. It was a view I will never forget. The night ended under the twinkle lights with a super fun streamer exit with all of Amy and Bens family and friends cheering them goodbye!
